Editor-in-Chief, The Scientista Foundation
I currently develop content and manage the editorial team for the Scientista Foundation, a non-profit that connects women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields around the world. Each year, the foundation hosts an annual symposium that brings together academics, entrepreneurs, and industry representatives seeking to advance diversity and mentorship for women in science. I work with organizations such as NASA and IEEE to offer our readers unique opportunities ranging from scholarships and patent funding to positions on game shows and conferences. Our foundation also has chapters on college campuses around the US. |
Are you passionate about science writing? You can volunteer to be one of Scientista's many bloggers, ask about writing a guest post (lauren AT scientistafoundation.org), or subscribe to our newsletter to stay up-to-date about the latest resources and scholarships.

Photography
I provide photography for media content as a means of sharing fascinating moments of animal behavior and to complement education about wildlife and science. I joined the Michigan State Gallant Lab on a field expedition to Gabon in 2019 to photograph hundreds of electric fish, some of which may be new species. I also enjoy sharing photographs of the research stations where much ecological, environmental, and animal research is produced. This is especially helpful for making remote locations more accessible to the public and non-scientists. You can check out some of these amazing research sites and stories, including one of my own photos from the Rocky Mountain Bio Lab, featured in the 2018 Nature #ScientistAtWork photo contest, as well as some of my other photography work here. Please feel free to contact me if you're interested in re-sharing any of my photography.
